Summer Training for Snowmobilers | Prepare for the First Ride

I get asked the question all the time from riders of what it takes to acquire sponsorship.
First and foremost, it takes time and dedication year round to promoting the brands you represent.
We may only have 4-6 months to ride in the winter, but you still must stay engaged even in the off season with your fan and customer base.
As the rider, many aftermarket companies have sponsorship or ambassador forms you can fill out to apply for online.
Another avenue is to purchase a product you wish to represent and begin to publish reviews through your social outlets.
Either way, start building a platform of the brands you are interested in and post about them weekly.
Make yourself known.
Attend snowmobile expos and events such as Hay Days to introduce yourself to the owners and build a personal connection with them.
A sponsor is looking for someone who is willing to shake a hand and carry on a conversation outside of an e-mail requesting free stuff.
Someone who is knowledgeable about their product and can talk positively about the pros of using a certain brand.
Someone that people gravitate to and are genuinely interested in following their content for product info and updates.
Someone that is truly passionate about the sport, their brand and willingness to work together helping them as much as they help you.
Lastly, let’s face it. There are a lot of GOOD riders out there….how much time and effort are you willing to put in to be one of the GREAT ones is key.
Perfect your art and style of riding, but stay humble as you progress. Continue to learn from those that are better and teach those that are not.
If you put all this together, you’ll be well on your way to having the opportunity to partner with brands in the industry and become a sponsored rider yourself.
