This is a hard one for some to grasp, but without failure there can be no true success.

We all set goals in life. But it’s the goals that sometimes seem unattainable that can pave the way to reaching your true potential.

The dedication to achieving a goal can be a daunting task.

How strong is your mindset to see it through?

Do you give up when things don’t go as planned or stay the course and find another way to push forward?

I believe that you must stay humble. Learn from your failures and recognize that you may not always win or be the best at something, but with hard work and determination you eventually can win and be amongst the best.

I can’t tell you how many times on the RMSHA Hillclimb circuit I failed to get the results I wanted, but it was a lot over my career.

However, with each and every failed attempt, I would do my best to learn from my mistakes and keep pushing forward.

Make adjustments to your plan for attaining success.

I would get coaching from friends, practice more, make changes to my sled set up…you name it, I would work on the things I had control over to better my results for the next time.

What I wouldn’t do is let a failed performance define who I was or defeat the goal I was trying to achieve.

Ultimately, I actually ended up winning a lot of races and have 4 world championships to my name because of my determination to succeed.

So embrace the failures and never give up, because one day it will lead to success you can appreciate. Success that you can absolutely be proud of.
