Fun in the Dirt: Back Behind the Bars Again

Title "From MTB to Moto" GIF

About 10 years ago I gave up riding moto in exchange for mountain biking.

It was a strategic move as it gave me and my wife an outdoor sport we could enjoy doing together.

We live in one of the top rated mountain bike regions here in Fruita and it opened the door to taking advantage of the abundance of beautiful trail systems it has to offer.

There have been many rides that we have done over the years. Most of which were shared with family and friends, that created many memories to look back on.

However, I found that each year that passed, the more I gravitated to the urge of getting back behind the bars of a dirt bike and twisting the throttle of some raw 4 stroke power!

It wasn’t but just 2 weeks ago that I got my opportunity.

With a trip just an hour south to visit my brother in Montrose, I got the chance to have some fun in the dirt.

Gearing up felt just like old times.

Yes, my gear had been sitting on the shelf for quite some time, but with great excitement, my gear still fit just fine.

So I buckled up my boots, strapped my helmet on and off we went!

That day was one I will never forget. Getting to ride with my older brother and fall back in the groove of ripping some moto miles left me with a grin ear to ear.

Now it’s not like I’m going to give up mountain biking, as it’s still one of my favorite things to do for fun and training.

I’m just saying that adding a dirt bike back in the mix is very probable so I can have all the fun in the dirt!
